Historic log buildings are among the most valuable examples of our ancestors’ craftsmanship. Every beam, detail, and construction method reflects a deep understanding of wood as a traditional building material, while also giving Czech folk architecture its unique character. This makes the careful restoration of these buildings and their preservation for future generations all the more important.
We are therefore pleased to share another project in which Bochemit impregnation products were used as part of the restoration of a historic log house in Železný Brod, known as Teprovsko. The project was reported by the PROPAMÁTKY (“FOR MONUMENTS”) portal, with which we have a long-standing partnership through the Institute for Monuments and Culture.
During the restoration, both the original and newly added sections of the timbered structure were treated with Bochemit QB Profi. This protects the wooden elements against wood-destroying insects, fungi, and mold, while preserving the historical structure’s authenticity to the greatest extent possible.
It is precisely projects like this that confirm that the preservation of cultural heritage is not merely a matter of technology, but above all a matter of long-term cooperation between experts, property owners, and organizations that help raise awareness about historic preservation. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with the PROPAMÁTKY portal for the ninth consecutive year and to work together to support the restoration of historic buildings throughout the Czech Republic.
